Vancouver Transportation - There will be plenty of modes of transportation that you can choose from. There are busses, electric busses, a skytrain, Amtrak trains and there plenty of boats available to get you from here to there. You can use a taxi, limo or rent a car if you prefer. Just remember to follow the rules of the road while you are travelling in and around Vancouver and always wear your seatbelt when you are in a vehicle.

Travel Guide

Another great option is to take a tour of the city. We recommend various ones in the tour section of the guide. This can be a relaxing way to see Vancouver and they will take you around so you won’t have to worry about how to get there. They will know.

The Skytrain is a great experience and as well as getting you around the city and suburbs provides a very enjoyable and interesting ride. It is strung high above the streets and gives a smooth ride that you almost feel like your flying. There are two main routes and about 40 stations.

Bus routes criss cross the city and you’ll find they serve every part. You’d need to ask your hotel about routes that are convenient for you. B Line buses are modern articulated buses that serve some of the more popular routes. In addition to buses, there are also trolley buses that go on many routes, making this one of the most important trolley services in North America. Using electricity they are an environmentally good method of transport.

You might also take a trip on the SeaBus, this is a catamaran that goes to several stops along the bay and gives you a great view of the Vancouver skyline.

The fares in Vancouver are based on zones and the cost depends on the number of zones you use. The standard fare for one zone is about Canadian $2.50 a trip and a ticket is valid for 90 minutes but a more cost effective way is to buy a booklet of ten tickets. Another option is to get a day pass for about Canadian $10 which allows you unlimited travel across all zones.

However you decide to get around the city you’ll find Vancouver a very enjoyable town. From the scenery to the people Vancouver will be a city you’ll remember fondly.
