VANCOUVER CANADA TOURIST INFORMATION

Vancouver Tourist Information - For a start it is a good idea to visit the local tourist office or the tourist desk at the Airport. The people that work at the tourist centers will be able to bring you up to speed on the special events, shows, sports events and exhibitions that are happening during your stay in the city. They are also a great source for leaflets and pamphlets about the main attractions giving you the up to date admission charges and opening hours. You can also get public transportation maps and information from them.

Travel Guide

The weather in Vancouver is of two quite different seasons. The summers are warm and pleasant and beaches and swimming are the order of the day. Temperatures average around 70 degrees. However it is as well to pack a light jacket for when you are out in the evenings. An interesting thing about Vancouver is that during the middle of the summer there will be 16 hours of light every day. In the winter there is only 8 hours of light.

Many visit the area in the winter months, particularly if they want to enjoy some of the best skiing in Canada - only about 60 minutes away. Regular snowfalls means that skiing in excellent conditions is a sure thing. The city has average temperatures of around 40 degrees in winter so yuou’ll want to bring plenty of warm clothing, coats, hats and gloves. Plan more indoor attractions during that time of the year if that is when your travelling.
